WATCH: Little girls dream of becoming teachers

Save the Children talks to 5th graders Ashley and Jessa on what it takes for them to reach their dreams.

Type: Video

Ashley and Jessa, ages 10 and 11, are best friends.

Both girls are doing well, both in and outside the classroom.

We first met Ashely and Jessa in Iloilo, where we conduct workshops to empower and educate children on their rights, especially in times of emergencies.

The girls are part of a group of students promoting disaster preparedness and resilience in their campus. They visit classrooms to teach fellow students about climate change, as well as the dos and don’ts in times of typhoon, earthquakes, and other calamities.

This was the duo’s first taste of teaching. Since then, the two girls were determined to fulfill their dreams of becoming teachers.

With your support, we can make the dreams of children like Ashley and Jessa a reality.
