Save the Children Philippines congratulates the 2021 Harvest of Excellence awardees of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Iloilo City. Twenty-one awards were presented to our Sustaining Education Reforms Gain (SERG) project pilot schools, teachers, and education leaders for their outstanding performance in ensuring learning continuity and achievements in learning and development (L&D) despite the current challenges to education.

“Today’s Virtual Harvest of Excellence is telling stories of each other’s triumph in this time of global health crisis. Here, we will discover how our schools have managed to survive, achieve and keep their wellbeing and interests despite the stress, chaos and enormous challenges to education. All who have given their best in the Division, Regional, National or International levels are recognized,” said Schools Division Superintendent De los Reyes.

Jaro I Elementary School was awarded the Best L&D System Implementer for SERG Pilot Schools for their exemplary performance, and Iloilo Central Elementary School was awarded the Best L&D Center for SERG Pilot Schools.

For their outstanding leadership as Personnel Development Committee (PDC) co-chair and Program Management Team (PMT) Leader, Micron Rey B. Fuego of Iloilo Central Elementary School and Bonifacia J. Dalugdugan of Jaro I Elementary School were recognized. Meanwhile, Girlie Faith P. Cadalman of A. Celis Memorial School was recognized as Most Facilitative L&D PMT Leader, and Grace Ann B. Segovia was recognized as the Most Transformative L&D PMT Leader. The Buntatala National High School PMT Members comprised of Rowena R. Dejilla, Ma. Lilibeth D. Thompson, Beth E. Viloria, and Aileene C. Suante were also recognized as the most cohesive SERG PMT members.

Our Pilot School Heads and Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDS) were also recognized for their wholehearted support and enthusiasm in operationalizing the L&D system. The award was presented to Dr. Lynette L. Trinidad (former Principal of Jaro I Elementary School), Dr. Susana P. Villa of Iloilo Central Elementary School, Dr. Angelo G. Tanoy (former Principal of M.L. Quezon Elementary School), Principal Christine Joy M. Batuigas of A. Celis Memorial Elementary School, Principal Melanie J. Tabaculde of Buntatala National High School, Principal Stella Mae D. Sionosa of A. Bonifacio Integrated School, Principal Dymphna Leizel D. Jocson (former Principal of Iloilo Central Elementary School), Dr. Nerio Benito E. Eseo PSDS of District I – Iloilo City Proper, and Gabriel J. Pintor PSDS of District IV – A-Jaro.

Meanwhile, additional awards were presented to Principal Christine Joy M. Batuigas of A. Celis Memorial School as Most Engaged and Involved SERG Pilot School Head, Annabelle Joy B. Ngitngit of M.L. Quezon Elementary School was recognized as the Most Improved School L&D Implementer, and Joni B. Gallardo of A. Bonifacio Integrated School as Well-Inclined School L&D Implementer.

Special service awards were presented to Rolly Ben M. Madera as the Division Teacher and Development (TPD) Coach and Gilda C. Gulmatico as Division L&D Focal Person for their outstanding service and commitment as L&D champions.

Save the Children Philippines lauds the resilience, dedication, and passion of the school officials, teachers, and non-teaching staff that we work with through the SERG project supported by the Australian Embassy.
