“Being able to change the lives of children while doing what I’m most passionate about gives me fulfillment…” – John Eric Enopia

John Eric Enopia runs a mobile café business called The Cooking Dad Bake & Brew.

Last May 2020, he started their family business with only three pieces of cassava cake and a few bottles of cold brew coffee drinks. With what little they had that time, Eric and his wife Sheng, wanted to set a good example to their children Shayne and Uno, by sharing their blessings to others.

For this, they chose Save the Children Philippines as their charity of choice because they wanted to help children whose education was affected by the pandemic.

Fast forward to 2022, John’s business has grown into a physical store and the Enopia family has continued to change the lives of many children through their monthly donations to support Save the Children Philippines’ programs on education, health & nutrition, and Typhoon Odette response.

Here is John’s inspiring journey with Save the Children Philippines:

How did you first hear about Save the Children?

Upon looking for an organization dedicated to helping children, we came across Save the Children Philippines on Facebook. We figured it was the best organization to help spread our advocacy and offer help to children in need.

What made you choose to support Save the Children?

Save the Children promotes child welfare, education, and health through its various programs and campaigns. We were touched and moved by their statement, “All children deserve a future.”

Can you share about the fundraising project you are doing for Save the Children? What was the highlight of it?

Our fundraising project is all about doing good by donating 10% of our income to Save the Children. Hence our tagline, “Brewing coffee with a purpose.”

How would you describe Save the Children to someone who is also interested to make a difference for children?

Save the Children is an organization that works to ensure every child has a secure and healthy childhood. Our donations, funds, and hard work are all for a great cause. What matters most is our willingness to help children live their lives to the fullest and give them hope for their future.

What are your hopes and aspirations for Filipino children?

We truly hope that children will all attain their right to study, live in harmony, and experience equality. Children are the hope of our future, so we must invest on children.

If you can describe your journey with Save the Children in one word, what would it be?

One word — fulfilling. Our journey with Save the Children has been nothing but full of joy. Being able to change the lives of children for the better while doing what I’m most passionate about gives me fulfillment.
